Most staff information in KickUp is kept current by a nightly import from your district's staff file (SIS). Editable Directory Data lets an administrator correct or override a staff member's fields directly in KickUp by pausing sync on a field — which makes the field editable and stops the nightly import from overwriting the value you set.
This is useful when the staff file is missing a value or is slow to update — for example assigning an evaluator, setting an evaluation reference date, or fixing an attribute for one person, without waiting on IT to change the source file.
Available to administrators with directory management permissions.

Go to the Directory and open the staff member's profile.
Find the field you want to change and click the ellipsis (…) next to it.
Choose Pause sync. This makes the field editable and stops the nightly import from overwriting it.
Edit the value and save.
Paused values are recorded as a manual source, so it's clear the value was set in KickUp rather than imported.
Resuming sync
To let the nightly import manage the field again, click the ellipsis (…) and choose Resume sync. The next import will update the field from your staff file.
The value you set manually stays until that next import runs. At that point it's overwritten if your staff file doesn't reflect the change.
The Paused fields table
To see everything currently paused across your district, open Actions at the top of the Directory and choose Paused fields. This opens a dedicated page listing every paused field.
See the staff member, the field, and who paused it.
Filter by Field type and Paused by.
Resume sync on a field directly from this page to hand it back to the nightly import.
Use this table to review overrides and clean up anything that should go back to syncing from the staff file.
Good to know
Pausing is per field, not all-or-nothing — the rest of a staff member's data keeps syncing normally.
Use this for one-off corrections and for districts whose source file can't yet provide a value (such as evaluator assignments).
Changing an evaluator here works the same as changing one anywhere else in KickUp Growth — going forward, the new evaluator picks up in-progress work; it doesn't retroactively change who evaluated someone in the past.
