How to preview a course

Courses that include content beyond the course description display a Content section below the course description and tags.

  1. Navigate to the course you are interested in.

  2. Find the Content section (if present) on the course details page.

  3. Click Preview button. Click through the course to learn more about the content and requirements.

How to begin a course

  1. Navigate to the course you are interested in.

  2. Register for the course by clicking Register.

  3. Click Start learning in the content section.

Progressing through course materials

Once you have started the course, buttons and indicators will help you progress through the course.

  • Click Mark complete once you have reviewed available content and completed actions described in directions.

  • Click the Next and Back buttons to move through the different parts of the course.

  • In the outline on the left, you will notice that the icons for each resource/assignment change colors:

    • Gray = incomplete

    • Green checkmark = complete.

  • Once an entire module is completed, a solid green circle will appear beside the module name.

Submitting, reviewing, and commenting on assignments

For certain assignments, you may be asked to add artifacts to demonstrate participation or learning.

To add an artifact:

  1. Click +Add artifacts .

  2. Enter a URL or select a file to upload.

  3. Once your links or files have been detected, click Add artifacts.

  4. Once you are satisfied with your submissions and ready to submit the assignment, click Submit assignment.

Assignments may either be approved automatically upon submission, or may require a facilitator to review.

You will see a Assignment submitted, awaiting approval label below the assignment description once your submission is awaiting facilitator review. Once an assignment is approved, you will see Assignment approved in green below the assignment description.

Both you and the facilitators of a course may leave comments on the assignment activity feed. Facilitators are notified via email when you leave comments, making this a great way to add clarification or to communicate follow-ups related to an assignment.

Taking quizzes

Courses may include quizzes. You can see the number of attempts allowed and the minimum score required to pass the quiz.

Click Take quiz when ready to attempt a quiz.

Finishing a course

Once all items within the course have been completed, you will be eligible for course credit. Once all items have been completed, Course complete! appears at the top of the course content page.

An alternative message you may see appears when you have completed all course items but one or more assignments are pending approval from a course facilitator.

Once a facilitator approves your course submissions and grants you credit for the course, the course will appear on your KickUp transcript. Alternatively, a facilitator may give you an alphanumeric or QR code to confirm your own attendance for the course.
