Some self-paced courses in KickUp include a due date, which helps you stay on track with professional learning or compliance-related requirements. Here's how due dates work and where you can find them.
Finding a course's due date
If a course includes a due date, it will appear in multiple places throughout KickUp:
On the course card in Browse and Collection views
On the course details page
On courses shown on your KickUp homepage
On Your Log
On your profile page's Learning tab
Due dates are always signaled clearly and are tied to your registration in the course. They may appear as red badges when they've passed and yellow badges when they're coming up.
How due dates are set
Course due dates are set by course creators and administrators, and may be set as:
A fixed calendar date (e.g., October 1, 2025) by which everyone must complete the course.
A personalized deadline based on when you register (e.g., 10 days after you register for the course).
No matter which type of due date is used, you’ll be able to see your due date in the course details and in the notifications you receive.
What happens if you miss a due date
You can still complete a course even after the due date has passed. KickUp won’t block access, but course facilitators or administrators may follow up with you if a deadline has been missed.
Due dates are there to help you stay on top of expectations and give your team visibility into what’s required.
Email reminders
Once you register for a course with a due date, you’ll receive reminder emails to help keep you on track:
When you register
1 week before the due date
1 day before the due date
1 day after the due date
1 week after the due date
Emails go to your regular inbox and include a link back to the self-paced course. Once you've confirmed attendance for a course, these reminder emails are no longer sent.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I unregister and re-register to get a new due date?
A: No. Even if the due date is personalized based off of your registration, KickUp uses the first time you registered for the course to calculate your due date.
Q: Will I still get credit if I complete a course after the due date?
A: Yes. You can still receive credit after the due date unless your organization or facilitator has a different policy. If you’re unsure, reach out to the course facilitator.
