The Learning Content functionality does not introduce any new permissions. Instead, existing permissions are used to govern who can edit, facilitate, and participate in a course.

  • Who can edit content on a course? Anyone who can edit the self-paced course can access Course Creator functionality — this is users with the global “Manage Events” permission (assigned in the Directory) or course-level “Edit event” permission (assigned on the edit form of the course). Users with “Submit events” permission should follow these steps.

  • Who can facilitate a course? Course Facilitator functionality is enabled for users who are able to manage attendance for the course — this is users with the global “Manage Event Attendance” permission (assigned in the directory) or course-level “View and manage attendance” permission (assigned on the course edit form).

  • Who can participate in a course? Use the “Visibility and permissions” section in the course edit form to determine who can view, register for, and access the content of a self-paced course.
