Editing an existing coaching cycle

Once you have created a coaching cycle, you may find yourself needing to edit the description, form, and other related information within a coaching cycle step.

To edit a coaching cycle within a coaching instance, find the coaching instance you would like to edit. Afterward, select edit on the top right corner. From there, go to the cycles tab and find the step you want to edit.

When editing your coaching cycle, you can:

Editing a goal selection step

Goal Selection provides a way for staff members to choose a goal for the coaching cycle.

Selecting Goal Selection opens a form where you can name the goal and provide a description. Next, you have the ability to assign the task to the coach or the staff member through the Assignee field. The Requirement field opens a dropdown list of options: Required Task, Opt in Task, or an Opt Out Task.

  • Required ensures that the task has to be completed by the user before completing the task.

  • Opt in is an optional step where coaches can choose to opt into completing during their cycle.

  • Opt out is an optional step where coaches can choose to opt out of completing during their cycle.

  • The Framework field allows you to connect data in KickUp to the instructional or professional practice framework used by your organization. Frameworks in KickUp are organized into nested “nodes” that your Client Success Manager helps you configure.

  • The Additional Questions field gives you the option to add open response questions for the assignee to answer for each goal.

  • Through the Number of Goals field, you can enter a fixed number of goals or range of goals that the staff member can create.

  • The Allow Artifacts field gives staff members the ability to attach files or provide hyperlinks.

Editing a meeting step

The Meeting Option opens a modal where you can add a name, description, who the form is assigned to, and if it is required. On the right side you will see the option to Allow Artifacts, which allows staff members to add attachments to the meeting.

Editing a form step

The Form Selection option gives you the ability to add a step that requires a form to be completed. This form is specific to this step. For a more extensive guide on how to create forms, visit this help article.

Rearranging steps

To change the order of your steps, select the for dots to the left of the step, and drag it to where you want it to take place within the cycle.

To delete a step

To delete a step, find the step you would like to delete, and select the trash icon to the right of that step.
